As you consider purchasing a BelAire fence, this cost and pricing guide will help you develop an initial budget and plan for the ownership costs associated with each type of pool fence.

If you are looking to replace your fence or install a new one, you have come to the right place. Many homeowners enter the process of building or replacing a fence without a clear understanding of the overall costs and how those costs are broken down. Replacing or building a new fence can be comparable to purchasing a new car or renovating your home.

Here at BelAire Fencing, we have been in the fencing business for over 20 years and have a good understanding of the costs associated with different fencing systems, as well as other expenses that may arise depending on the type of fence you choose. We would like to provide you with information to help alleviate any confusion and concerns about fencing costs.

Factors you need to consider before purchasing a fence:

Ease of Installation:

When choosing a fence system, consider how many components it includes and how easy the installation will be. Remember, time is money. If you, your builder, or a professional will be installing the fencing, the installation costs could end up being more than the product itself, especially if it is difficult and time-consuming to install.

Foundations:

You will need to consider what you are installing your fence into or on top of, as there are many different soil types. For example, clay can be rock hard and very difficult for the installer to drill or dig holes in, which means extra heavy-duty tools and more time on site. Alternatively, if you are installing into sand or pea metal, these materials can also complicate installation, causing the holes to collapse and requiring significantly more concrete to fill each one. Standard topsoil and medium-grade dirt are ideal for any fence installation. If there are significant issues with soil conditions, alternatives to consider include using longer posts or laying a concrete nib on top of the existing ground. The other alternative is to use a flanged post system that can be simply fixed to any existing timber or concrete foundation. Most of the BelAire Fencing systems come with a Flanged post option so you can directly fix to the top of the timber or concrete or sometimes steel foundation.

Maintenance:

Maintenance is an important factor to consider. Choose a material that aligns with your willingness to maintain it (e.g., wood requires regular staining, while powder coated slat fencing or coloursteel fencing is low maintenance). If you reside in an area with extreme weather conditions, such as heavy winds or moisture, certain materials may be more suitable than others. We recommend selecting a fence type that requires minimal ongoing maintenance, ensuring you don’t incur additional costs in the future. When it comes to the glass fencing we would recommend adding the enduroshield option to make cleaning a load easier for you, see more information here: https://www.belairefencing.co.nz/enduroshield

Lifespan:

Think about the materials you are using and how they will react to New Zealand's weather conditions and UV exposure. For example, plastic, WPC, and timber fencing may not withstand New Zealand's climate as well as materials like aluminium and steel and glass. While timber and plastic fencing can be more affordable, you will likely need to replace them much sooner than fences made with steel or aluminum posts.

To help you get some indicative rates for your proposed fencing, please use the calculators below to give you an idea of what your new fence will cost. We have multiple calculators available, and you can simply use the sliders to estimate the costs for your project.
